A number of digitized Korean photographs exist across the internet but receive limited exposure as they're shared within private galleries, veteran associations or image-focused websites presented in English. With permission, the Korean Image Archive also hosts these images in an effort to store them under one space and create a more comprehensive picture of Korea's 20th century.
Those interested in contributing their own digital images can send them through our Digital Repository Submission form. We primarily host photographs taken before 1970, but visitors are still welcome to submit later photographs.
To donate physical material such as photographic prints or 35mm slides, please submit a Donation form or refer to our Donation & Digitization Program for more information.
