A man named Buss photographed these images in the mid-1960s. He was possibly an envoy for the United Nations Korean Upland Project. Its purpose was to study land use, soil & water conservation practices in Korea's hilly & mountainous terrain then train farmers upland conversion techniques to increase farmland productivity.
